Changes in 2009 with the Georgia Courts |
Starting January 1, 2009, the Georgia Commission on Interpreters will be changing the rules for interpreters in the court room. Registered interpreters will be required to become certified by the Georgia Commission if there is an exam offered in your language. See the official notification. Currently the language exams offered by the Commission are Arabic, Cantonese, French, Haitian-Creole, Hmong, Korean, Laotian, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
In order to ensure you are able to meet the requirements to become a certified interpreter, our PLCI program is an excellent preparation tool. Not only will you be prepared for the Georgia Commission, but your PLCI certification opens doors as an interpreter to assignments everywhere.
