Birth Certificate Translation
A birth certificate is a very important document for many immigration related matters including obtaining a green card, sponsoring parents' visitor visas, or sponsoring relatives on a green card. If the birth certificate is not in English, you are required to translate it to English.

The birth certificate must contain:
  • Person's name
  • Date of birth
  • Location/place of birth
  • Names of both parents
  • Annotation by the appropriate authority indicating that it is from the official records
  • The seal of the issuing office
If a birth certificate is available but it does not have enough information (such as a missing name) or incorrect information, additional evidence should be submitted along with your certificate for translation.

If your birth certificate was issued more than 3 years after you were born, you must submit the certificate along with a magistrate's order related to the late registration.
