THANK YOU
First and foremost, I wanted to say thank you on behalf of Professional Linguistics for another great year. Although I actively joined late in 2007, I’ve seen enough to know that we have more than just a basic customer/vendor relationship with everyone we work with. Our customers are priority one for us, and you’ve rewarded our dedication through repeat business and referrals – thank you for everything you’ve done to help us grow and better serve you.

), the new CEO of Professional Linguistics and I started in October 2007. I recently changed careers from the Information Technology world to pursue an excellent growth opportunity in the language services industry. In the beginning I remained silent and listened to observations, feedback, and suggestions from both inside and outside of the company. Through what I’ve learned, I’ve launched several new automation projects to build upon the solid language services foundation the company had already by adding innovations in workflow management, customer relationship management, and linguist services. Keep in mind we’ve retained all of the prior linguistics expertise and talent that we’ve always had before to ensure that our Information Technology remains as simply an enabler for language services. As we progress in building the next generation of Professional Linguistics, we look to you – our clients – to continue to give us feedback, suggestions and opinions to stay on target!
On bulk email – I’m hoping you will find this newsletter beneficial to you. We will NEVER sell your email addresses or share them with anyone else, and I promise to keep the volume of emails from our company low. If you’re not convinced, I’ve included a way to unsubscribe and take your name off at the bottom of this email if you would like to be removed from our mailing list.
If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, I am always interested in hearing from you.
Happy Holidays!

2008 Mileage Policy
Starting in 2008, Professional Linguistics mileage charges are as follows:
- $0.485 per mile, as based on Google maps or other internet based map service as requested by customer
- Mileage funds are strictly a pass-through to the interpreter for their travel expenses
- Our mileage rates are based upon the state and federal rates – if there is a change at any time, we will adhere to the new rates.
- As an alternative to mileage, travel time may be billed per hour as agreed with the customer
- We will not charge both mileage and hourly travel for the same assignment
Coming Soon: Linguist Services by Professional Linguistics
In December 2007, we are launching our newest offering called Linguist Services. This is a website designed to provide more open communication with our interpreters and allow them to check assignments and update their training requirements all online. We’re also going to start a second newsletter more focused on our linguists in 2008. More information to come as we unveil the new website.
