Background

Professional Linguistics, Inc. was founded in 1990 and is based in Atlanta, GA.  During the first year of operation, the company was focused on interpreting and document translation for insurance needs in the Atlanta area.  In 1991, the company began providing simultaneous interpreting for state and local court cases.  Professional Linguistics obtained several certifications and associations with professional language groups to continue growth in the interpreting industry.

Today Professional Linguistics has many experienced interpreters and does business globally. Over 140 languages are now supported with hundreds of interpreters joining and certifying each year. This experienced resource pool enables Professional Linguistics to provide fast and quality service, even with rare and harder to locate languages.

Our team consists of over 1000 certified, registered, or licensed interpreters and translators in Georgia, and access to thousands more language professionals across the United States. In addition, we have several classroom instructors teaching our classes in the Atlanta area.

• Many of our translators are home based. Through the use of technology, they do not need to visit the office in order to translate, proofread, or certify a translation.
• Our new teleconferencing system allows for appointment based telephone interpreting sessions to replace on-site visits, thereby reducing the cost while helping conserve resources.
  
• Our advanced scheduling technology minimizes mileage, emissions, and fuel costs by selecting the closest interpreter to your location.

Project Manager

Ms. Abbie Robbins joined the Professional Linguistics team as the scheduling and resource coordinator. In this critical role, she is responsible for ensuring the right linguist works with the appropriate assignment while maintaining business processes. Abbie has strong experience in the Customer Service field and has held positions with the corporate and legal industry. She is a Certified Paralegal from Kennesaw State University.

Customer Relationship Manager

Vinnie takes the lead with handling important customer issues and is responsible for bringing in new business to Professional Linguistics. She also coordinates and teaches Interpreter and Translator training classes in the Atlanta area. Vinnie has sales management experience from a career in Corporate and Retail Sales. She speaks 5 languages and also works as an interpreter for legal and medical situations.
