Background

Professional Linguistics, Inc. was founded in 1990 by Nguyen Anh Puckett and is based in Atlanta, GA.  During the first year of operation, the company was focused on interpreting and document translation for insurance needs in the Atlanta area.  In 1991, the company began providing simultaneous interpreting for state and local court cases.  Professional Linguistics obtained several certifications and associations with professional language groups to continue growth in the interpreting industry.

Today Professional Linguistics has many experienced interpreters and does business globally. Over 140 languages are now supported with hundreds of interpreters joining and certifying each year. This experienced resource pool enables Professional Linguistics to provide fast and quality service, even with rare and harder to locate languages.

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Mark Puckett joined Professional Linguistics in 2007 in order to accommodate and continue the aggressive growth the company has experienced. As an accomplished professional with 15 years of experience in finance and IT systems, Mark came to Professional Linguistics from GE Energy where he managed the technology that monitored and managed critical power generation systems worldwide. During a 7 year career with General Electric, he served several business leadership roles including Infrastructure Manager, IT Leader, and Network Security Manager. Prior to GE, Mark held information technology positions with Nortel Networks and NetEffect Corporation in Atlanta, GA.

Mark has a BBA from Georgia State University in Management Information Systems and holds CISSP and CISM information security certifications.
